It has influenced me in my everyday style I always have a red lipstick on me, and you have to love red nails, my must though has got to be a bandana. You look stunning in vintage apparel, has being exposed to such clothing influenced your day to day style at all? In the shoot with Kassy Harris it was quite an empowering experience holding the gun… think I liked it a little too much, ha-ha! Is there a sense of theatricality to shoots like those, or is it all about embodying the clothing and feeling the theme?įor me it’s all about embodying the clothing, and bringing to life what this type of clothing makes people think of and of course having fun while doing it. You’ve exhibited a retro flair in shoots with both Kassy Harris (as a gangster’s moll) and Rebecca Raistrick (as a femme fatale). Everything just feels like it was so much naughtier back then… I mean look at Bettie Page, devote catholic but did fetish modelling. I find it a classy look, but you can sex it up if you want to. This era is fascinating to me and it is where our styles originated from. What is it about this era that you’re so drawn to? You’ve modelled some incredible period looks and fashions. It’s clear that the pin up era and retro style play an important part in your life. My first few experiences were so nerve racking, and I kept thinking am I going to be good enough… but then the adrenaline rush hit and wow! It’s still the same feeling I get in my stomach now, and I love it! This is what keeps me modelling.

What were your first few experiences like as a model in front of camera? Can you remember anything you were feeling leading up to your modelling debut? It’s all about expressing yourself and of course having fun with the different make up, clothes and lingerie. Variety is very important to me as I am not limiting myself to one style as soon as you do that it is very hard to change. Is variety important to you when it comes to your modelling work? It must be so freeing not limiting yourself in your expression. The variety in your portfolio reflects the many creative influences you have. So when I got asked to take part in a shoot I jumped at the chance. Well I just love clothes and have loved messing around in front of a camera since I was a little girl, and my dad says I’ve not changed one bit. Ha-ha! I love how you have worded this question. What got you into “showing off” in the first place? You’ve got many strings to your modelling bow, and a raft of talents in front of camera. Welcome along to the Alt Girl botherer blog Ida. Please enjoy this introduction to Ida Holmes. All in all it’s a thoroughly enjoyable read, and she’s a fantastic lady to promote. In this piece I’m privileged to chat with Ida about her inspirations and aspirations, along with her craft in front of the camera, and her performance ambitions. The breathtaking visions she has created grabbed my attention towards the end of last year, and I knew I had to open her portfolio up to a wider audience.
